I just talked to Jerome about this, he's working on the 1.9 version of the code and planning to provide the source after that is complete.

I'll update this forum if i get more info.

Hi All
Sorry for the long silence, but I've been very very busy with other projects and so on !
Well, we now have a V1.9 firmware that we could use as a starting point for open source.
My main concern is to find somebody who can manage this open source community, prepare git repo, and maintain the sources.
Anybody interested in this ? Obviously the guy in charge of this should have a knowledge of open source, git creation and so on.
Jerome

We will release the 1.9 as a starting point for open source ...
The following issues have been addressed:
- After a reset to factory default, the MIDI merger is disabled to avoid any MIDI loopback (issue with 64bits Mac)
- After a reset to factory default, the MIDI output 2 is disabled by default
- Corrected bug: Sync24 and clock synchronization is no longer lost when tweaking controls
- Corrected bug: MIDI clock sync lost when tweaking controls
- Possibility to assign Realtime events (start/stop) to any digital control

Have you thought about emailing this forum's members directly? A lot of Bitstream owners who might be interested might never hear about this new project otherwise.

And would it be ok to publicise the project on production / dj forums?

jerome, why don't you contact the user "x37v" ?

he posted quite a bit in this thread, and seemed to have the desire & knowledge necessary to maintain this project.
