Post MIDI out 2 only gives me garbage
My MIDI out 2 is giving me garbage, I think it might be a hardware problem. I already tried several things: clean preset, etc.. Disabling out2 does disable it, but that's all I can get from it changewise.

Here's a shot of MIDI OX to see what it spews out. This is just turning one knob, it doesn't really matter which one.

Am I missing something?

Hi
Did you check viewtopic.php?f=14&t=929 ?
Also, did you try to initialize the bs3x ? edit + ok + group buttons while you switch on the controller ?
Some other points to check:

1) the power supply of your bs3x comes from USB ? USB hub ? AC/DC adapter ?
Please note the bs3x requires 500mA, so if you are using a USB hub that provides only 100mA, it could result in unexpected messages.
2) Can you observe a similar issue on MIDI out 1 ?
3) In MIDIOX, be sure to uncheck "Attach midi out to midi in" in the devices list, as well as select only the device that corresponds to midi out 2.
4) What about the USB Out 2, same garbage ?

It would be interesting to try to initialize the B3x with vers.10 fw updater,
even with santa rosa,
but I can not find the file on the installation disk * bfw.
1 Ac/Dc
2 Yes
3 MIDIOX ?

Excuse for the poster in inter-line I thought it was just the link.
All the aid on the case will be blessed by santa rosa.

The selected devices are porta, I do not think it is the bs3x unless you renamed the devices ?!
Also, if you do not connect the bs3x you observe this garbage ?
If so that means the problem is not from the bs3x

If you are on Mac you should try to repair disk permissions, already seen something similar solved by repairing disk permissions.

I'm sorry I have not explained well.
Port1 and Port2 is B3x
and
when I unplug the usb cable
and I have just the ac / dc pluged
LEDs outputs continue to flash on the controller.

I actually hooked up an adapter to see if it would help, but MIDI OUT2 gives out randomness, doesn't seem coherent at all. The amount of data I'm receiving through MIDI OUT2 seems to be similar to the amount I'm getting on OUT1, but that's all. It's not the same when I turn the knob back to the same spot... different numbers. Only looking at what's coming in on MIDI OX..

Also, I stopped using USB because sending and receiving programs via USB was really slow.

If you are sure automations are OFF, if you have reinitialized the bs3x to factory defaults,
if, when disconnecting USB and MIDI cables you still have MIDI Out leds flashing, that means :
- your AC/DC adapter is faulty
or
- your bs3x is faulty.

When you power the bs3x from USB port (not a nub) (AC adapter disconnected), do you still observe these flashing leds ?

My B3x faulty means?
So, is not a firmware problem, I have to look for an exorcist?
Tnx for any help anyway.

so mine's a bit broken then? Is there anyway I can fix this? any guesses what the cause might be hardware wise?

also noticed that when I was loading programs from the software to the unit, it was getting really slow via USB but normal with MIDI. and I get weird automation out of nowhere sometimes when I twiddle the knobs..

I can not certify it,
but it seems that everything starts as soon as you touch the knob controller 33.
I've always had great care for my B3x there is not a midi controller equivalent on the market, I need it and will not buy another one.
We must find a solution to this problem.
I think many others have the same problem but perhaps they believe it is a matter of wrong sync setting.
I hope that J makes an extra effort!
Tnx a lot.

Just a tiny update. I opened up the box, examined it a bit (finding nothing), and removed the dust. Then put it back together. MIDI 2 is working again! Weird, but oh well. 8)
